jira.BREAKING: Last week terrorist bomb explosion in Ethiopia was planted by the regime – witnesses
EthiopianReview.com | October 22nd, 2013
Ethiopian
Review has confirmed from multiple witnesses that the Oct. 13, 2013,
alleged terrorist bomb explosion in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa was
planted by the regime.
According to our sources, the night before the explosion, two dead bodies were taken by TPLF security agents from Menilik Hospital and placed inside the house where the explosion took place. The house was allegedly rented by Somali nationals, but it has now been exposed that the Somalis were brought from the Somali region by the regime’s security agents a few days before the incident took place and were transported back right after the explosion.
Ethiopian Review’s investigation has uncovered that the Somali nationals were brought to Addis Ababa by a special unit named 03 within the TPLF (ruling party) security apparatus that is under the direct command of Debretsion Gebremichael and Getachew Assefa, members of the TPLF politburo.
Contacted by Ethiopian Review, officials at the local police station have said that they are not part of the investigation and do not know the identities of any of the individuals, including the owners of the house who are allegedly involved. But according to residents in the neighborhood, the house belongs to well-known TPLF supporters who are suspected by every one of being spies.
The regime has so far not been willing to reveal the true identities of those who have reportedly been killed while setting up the bomb.
This is not the first time that the TPLF junta has exploded bombs and blamed it on its enemies. A diplomatic dispatch sent to Washington DC by American diplomats in Addis Ababa confirms (in a Wikileaks release) that the regime in Ethiopia is known to fabricate bombing incidents.
It needs also to be noted that the TPLF junta is one of the major sources of weapons to the Al Shabab terrorist group, according to South African Ambassador to the United Nations, Dumisani Kumalo, who was serving as chairman of the U.N. Security Council’s Somalia sanctions committee [read here].
Al Shabab itself is the creation of the TPLF junta. Without the invasion of Somalia by TPLF, Al Shabab would not have come into existence.

ONLF fighters attack Kebridahar Airport

Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia Demeke Mekonnen and his delegation lands at Godey Airport
Our aim for this attack was to disrupt the visiting delegation in Ogaden and send a clear message to the puppet administration that serves only the colonial agendas in our people and land. The official said to Ogadentoday Press on the phone.
Speaking on the attack the official said that they have killed several Ethiopian Troops at the airport and destroyed two vehicles.
This was a co-ordinated attack and went successfully, the official said.
The puppet administration was hiding the attack but the military leaders informed the delegation, said the official citing their intelligence in the Ogaden.
I can confirm to you that, it was midnight and they have been waiting to welcome the federal delegation in the morning.
There is no comment from Ethiopia government.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia Demeke Mekonnen, nine regional leaders, domestic and foreign investors were visiting Ogaden Region last week.
According to Ethiopian government, the domestic investors are interesting to invest the agricultural sector in Ogaden.
Ogaden National Liberation Front, a secessionist group fighting for the independence of Ogaden warns the foreign oil companies in Ogaden, and attacked in 2007 a Chinese oil field in Ogaden.
According to the source, ONLF were watching closely the visit and Pro- ONLF site “Ogaden News Agency (ONA) published that, ONLF fighters are on the high alert.
The arid Somali (or Ogaden) region of Ethiopia, home to some 7-8 million ethnic Somalis has been isolated from the world since 2005, when the government imposed a ban on all international media and most humanitarian groups from operating in the area.

He put the death toll from the attack at 25.
“A man with an explosives jacket entered unexpectedly in the tea shop where soldiers and civilians sat … and blew himself up,” local elder Ahmed Nur said from the scene of the blast.
“I could see the bodies of several soldiers being carried, but I could not make out whether they were dead or injured.” Al-Shabaab frequently attacks political targets as well as restaurants and other recreational spaces popular with foreigners and government soldiers.
The al-Qaida linked militants also claimed responsibility for an attack last month on a shopping centre in Nairobi in which at least 72 people were killed.
Ethiopian troops have been fighting Islamist militants in neighbouring Somalia for much of the past decade.
The country waged an ill-fated war between 2006 and 2009, and sent troops across the border again in 2011 to combat al-Shabaab militants, who were also battling Kenyan troops and an African Union military mission.

Ethiopia’s first marathon draws crowds to ‘land of runners’; Gudissa Shentema wins

Gudissa Shentema, born on June 20, 1980, in Dendi, Oromia
Sunday’s race, which drew 150 elite Ethiopian athletes and about 150 foreign “fun runners”, promises to boost professionalism in a country that has produced scores of world-class runners, many of whom started running barefoot along dusty country roads.
“Believe me, we can produce more big names, we can produce more marathon runners, more Olympic champions, world champion and world record holders,” said Gebrselassie, two-time marathon record-breaker and 10,000 Olympic champion.
Race organisers sought to draw Ethiopia’s top athletes to the race in Hawassa, 275 kilometres (170 miles) south of Ethiopia’s capital, by offering the largest cash prize in Ethiopian racing history — close to $5,300 (3,855 euros) each for the top man and woman competitors.
The marathon is part of an overall boost to Ethiopian athletics, which in the past two years has been bolstered by new world-class training centres and a series of competitive races that have drawn crowds from around the world.
“Two
years ago there was nothing here, athletes they wanted to come to
Ethiopia to train there was no facility,” said Gebrselassie, who hosts
several runs throughout the year, including the annual Great Ethiopian
Run, which last year drew close to 40,000 people.Today he has his own training centre, Yaya Village, on the outskirts of Addis Ababa and last year, 5,000 and 10,000 world record holder Kenenisa Bekele opened a running centre with one of the country’s only professional-rate running tracks.
With its high altitude and consistently sunny weather –- the country is often dubbed the land of “13 months of sunshine” -– Ethiopia has long been heralded as one of the best places in Africa for long distance training, rivalled only by neighbouring Kenya.
Sunday’s marathon winner, Gudissa Shentema, said the race was a historical victory for him as he had never run a competitive marathon on home soil, and that it has encouraged him to train harder.
“I’ve been competing in different countries but this one gives me a lot of motivation to continue,” he said, forehead glistening with sweat after his 42 kilometre-run.
Gebrselassie said he hopes to draw casual runners from abroad too, in order to promote a running culture and give foreigners a chance to tour Ethiopia.
“It’s a very good opportunity to bring tourists to see Ethiopia,” he said, adding that the international exposure is crucial for changing Ethiopia’s image.
Ethiopian athletics legend Haile Gebrselassie smiles on October 20, 2013 before Ethiopia’s fist-ever …
“It would change everything because people don’t know how beautiful Ethiopia is, how sweet the people are and how awesome the food is, there’s just so much,” said Delp, who came first in the women’s half marathon.
For some, the race was also a chance to run alongside Ethiopia’s future long distance stars and meet Gebrselassie, a global running hero.
Simon Newton, 35, did a “running tour” of Ethiopia before doing Sunday’s marathon, which he described as “fantastic.”
Second-placed Newton has run around 40 marathons before but said the Haile Gebrselassie race was the “most enjoyable” he has run.
As he tired around 35 kilometres, a group of children ran alongside him for motivation and at one point he had to dodge a monkey sitting on the road.
Gebrselassie said that while this year’s race drew only modest crowds, he hopes the event will grow in the future, perhaps to gain global standing and rival the New York or London marathon.
“Of course, you cannot predict what will be in the future… now with this marathon, if people know about it, you never know,” he said with his characteristic wide grin.
